Diseases You Can Get From Wildlife in British Columbia


Wild game and fish may carry diseases that can be transmitted to people. Disease transmission to people can be prevented by following the guidelines provided in this pamphlet. With the use of proper precautions, your chance of infection is very low. If you have any questions or issues with an animal you have harvested, or have found dead, sick or injured, contact the local Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations regional office.
